What are we?Foundation Childrens Holiday Work Groesbeek is a voluntary organization in the summer each year organizes a week of activities for the Groesbeek youth between the ages of 6 t / m 12 years. The organization of the week is owned by the government, known as the main line. A hundred volunteers supports the main thereby. They provide support for children and games.A brief history:It all started in 1969 to offer a holiday program for schoolchildren by the Action Committee Youth Center led by (then) Chaplain Gestel. The activities were spread over several days, one could buy a day pass or weekly pass. In the course of time, the week given the current form: a continuous activity week from Friday to Friday takes place in the last week of the summer holidays. With fixed elements therein such as the opening with a procession of balloons on a Thursday, the outing on Monday and Friday at the youth market at the end. Due to the popularity of the day tickets are now gone and is participating in the week only with a weekly ticket.The design of the week:Holidays for children Working in the Netherlands come in many shapes and sizes. The format of the group takes place on the first Friday of the week.Guidance:Everything around KVW is done by volunteers. The counseling. These are mainly young people from Groesbeek aged 15 to 25 years, who have often themselves also participated as a child with KVW. To lead a group may be, the minimum age is 16 years.The day length:KVW is no camp. The children go out at night just to go home. Most days start at 09:30 and end at 15:30 creations. There are some exceptions: the balloons parade on Thursday (at 19:00 pm), Sunday (from 12:30 to about 16:00) and the trip on Monday (08:00 to 19:00).
